My Trip To Las Vegas

This past weekend I took a short vacation with my wife to Las Vegas. It was a much needed vacation after getting married this past March. We were luckily enough to have her cousin offer us to stay at her places to help us save some money. Throughout the weekend we had the opportunity to catch up with family and friends and did some of the occasional touristy things. image image image image

There were a few places that I had to try such as Bachi Burger  and the famous “Double Double” from In-N-Out to satisfy my foodie needs. Some of the places I got to see in Vegas is Container Park in downtown Las Vegas where the buildings were filled with small shops are housed by actual shipping containers. Right outside of the Container Par stood a giantic Pray Mantis that shot our flames. From there we checked out a place called God SPIKE. Now this is a place for young adults and adults to live like a kid all over again. GOLD SPIKE is not just another bar or place to hang out with friends but a place to play some unique games. I walked in I say a larger than normal bag toss game. As I walked outside I saw people playing 4 Square. As we walked farther in there was pool table but it waimage image images on the ground with colored soccer balls , a very challenging and unique to play pool. But by far the coolest thing is giant red trash cans used to play the famous “BEER PONG” game. This was a real treat for me and my wife especially because since it was her first time coming to Vegas. This trip was an eye opener on what life has to offer.  Traveling is great way to find inspiration and experience what life has to offer. The opporutunity to chat with friends who I haven’t seen for years and be able to catch up on life. To share our troubles, dreams and crazy memories.  The best part of my Vegas trip wasn’t the food and seeing the fancy flashing light of the Vegas strip but witnessing the many churhes planted in this city.  I saw God doing great things in this city and it spark a fire to bigger and greater things in my life. I am still working on starting my non-profit section for my business. It is taking much longer than expected but I know once things get started I will have the opportunity to do so much more to serve my community and world around me. Once again this was a much needed trip for me and I’m glad my spark is on fire again.

Confirmation Day 2015

May 9, 2015.

My morning started waking up before 7am and the typical checking social media to see what I missed. Today was confirmation day for St. Joseph so I got out of bed and woke up the wife to make sure had enough time to get ready. Got my GoPro in hand I decided today will be the day I will take some footage and make a video with what I captured.

As I said before in previous posts I am not much of tech person nor was an expert in using my GoPro other than taking a selfies…I know, lame right? When I arrived at the church I started to be reminded of when I got confirmed in high school and its now hitting 16 years of doing ministry at my church. I watch the kids are dressed to receive their sacraments and the smiles on their faces as they share stories of their two year journey with Christ.

My advise and words of wisdom to any one who gets CONFIRMED is to remember Confirmation isn’t a graduation but a stepping stone to making commitment to your faith. It is the beginning of making a promise for the rest of your life to Know God, to Love God and to Serve God. Your faith journey is the opportunity for you to grow in a deeper relationship with our God but to also take the same journey with the people you’ve grown in your faith community.

I hope you guys enjoy this little video I made.

Iron Chef Jon Jon

I have always enjoyed cooking. I started to get interested in cooking in high school. Three of my friends were taking food service in school and it got me interested to learning how to cook. So in my final year in high school I entered in the food service program to improve my culinary skills and since then cooking has been a big part of my life.

I was never a good cook but I did enjoyed preparing something and seeing the people’s reaction to how your food taste. I enjoyed experimenting new flavors and tweeking recipes to having a better flavor profile. I love food so much that I made it a goal to try a new place to eat every week. I would go to high end restaurants to discover new flavors to excite my palate.

My love for food and cooking journeyed with me as I continue to serve in ministry and church retreats as I  help prepare meals. It also inspired me to fuse my passion of cooking and helping others to feed the homeless with the help my business.

Now cooking is now taking a different path for me. As a newly married man I find the joy of cooking for my wife and using my passion of cooking to fulfill my responsibility of a husband. We are now looking to grow our own fruits, vegetables, and herbs to live a much more healthier lifestyle. My passion for cooking and creating new dishes has evolved to creating dishes that are healtier for us to eat. My mindset has changed so that I can live a healthier lifestyle and prevent the many causes of diseases by avoiding “JUNK” food. But you know me…I love my sweets! So I will do my best to live healthy but the occassionally binge of sweetness – Life is short so enjoy the SWEET things in life.

This will be my journey to learn how to strengthen the temple God has given me by nurishing it with healther food and incorporating exercises. I want to transform my life by for God so here goes!

ALos enjoy this video of me when i was much younger, skinnier and had a full set of hair cooking at a retreat.

About the GAINES

No, I’m not talking about the “GAINS” from working out…even though I need some “gains”. I’m talking about Joanna Gaines from the hit HGTV show “Fixer Upper”. My wife shared this video with me early this morning and absolutely loved it – thanks babe.

Most people don’t know that I usually watch HGTV everyday, I mean everyday. I like to dream of one day living in one of these nice clean houses that are affordable. I always wonder how can houses be $250,000 in one area and here in Hawaii the houses here are in the mid $500s starting…I can barely afford to pay attentions…ugh!

Joanna Gaines shares her testimony and her walk with God in her journey of starting her business. God made it very clear to Joanna on His plans for her and Joanna but her faith and trust in HIM.  Through her faith, listening to God through prayer, and allowing God to take control she was blessed ten times fold. Watching this video was a great reminder for me and my business. It’s time to let God make my business decisions.

Be sure to watch the video and share it with friends. ENJOY!

Are you the 8 percent?

Have you guys ever heard about the 80/20 Rule? Wikipedia states the Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.

I started thinking how this relates to the church – Does that mean 20% of the congregation make up 80% of the church contributions of donations, resources, labor, service and who are “actively” involved with church ministry? No it doesn’t. Research shows about 8% of the congregation make up 80% of the people who are actively involved in ministry and contribute to the church. Crazy right?

I really don’t care if you are the 8%. I’m thinking of how the Christian community is a sleeping giant. Imagine if we grew this 8% to 16% and how much this world would change because we got more Christians to be more engaged in their faith. Doubling this 8% would allow churches to grow and make a larger impact in their community.

So what can we do to help grow this 8%? And who is this 8%? How do they look like? What makes them different? These are the questions I’m asking myself. I hope to learn from these 8% and share their life with you so we can learn to be more engaged with our faith.

Leave a comment on what you think the characteristics of these 8%. I’m very intetested in hear what you guys have to say.

Wedding Countdown

So I’m getting married…crazy right? Today will mark the 10 day count down till I say “I DO” to my future wife. I know some of you might be blindsided of me getting married because I havent share much about it on social media but I didn’t want to bore you guys with the lack of work I wasnt doing in perparing for this marriage. Big thumbs up to my fiance MJ for taking control and making sure everything gets done for our big day. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work, dedication and love in making our big day special.

Because of the wedding preparation I haven’t been focusing as much on our business. I’ve let go opportunities of hosting a booth for major events and haven’t had the time to help with church acivities. I hope everyone understands my “MIA” status but please know I will be working hard once the wedding celebration is over. I have a lot planned for Glorified Supply Co. and the formation of our non-profit. Please continue to follow on on instagram and twitter and like us on Facebook to keep you guys in the loop.

Until then I will be focusing majority of my time for my wedding. You will see a lot of pictures the day of and hanging out with friends and family. I hope you to share my happiness with you as I celebrate one of the biggest day of my life.

I love all you guys!

Student Senior Project

I’m here to talk a little about this cool guy name Travis Baguio.

Travis is a senior at Maryknoll High School. He enjoys playing music, playing sports, making YouTube videos, GoPro fun making and enjoys serving God. I met Travis when I was helping with their Youth Retreat. We’ve kept intouch through social media and seeing each other during church events. When I was planning our benefit show for the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation Travis reached out to me to be part of the committee and do this event as his Senior Project.

Since July of 2014 he has been committed in attending meetings, providing input and ideas in making the show. He also reached out to potential sponsors, market the event through social media, school, friends and family. The day of the event he assisted in controling the crowd by being one of our ushers and in between his down time he captured some video footage to highlight the show.

Here is a little clip:

Since this event Glorified Supply Co. has been blessed to the amount of people responding on how great the show was and how it inspired others to give back. Working with passionate people and high school students has showed me that we are all capable for doing something great – We just need to be passionate and a little crazy. This show alone has inspired me to start a new venture and start a non-profit. I hope this will inspire our younger generation to take action and help make a difference in our community. So if you are senior or even a high school student and want to plan event, whether its a benefit show, feeding the homeless, plan pop-up event for people to shop for cause, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

I can’t wait to share what we have planned for our non-profit. In the mean time stay inspired and “Share Da Blessings” wherever you go.

Be The Punchline

“It’ better to give than to receive”

This saying was taught me to from many people from teachers in school and from the teachings of the Bible. I don’t about you but I have fun giving. The smiles on people’s faces is rewarding.  Knowing for that brief moment I made difference. We all have a heart of service.  We are called to help others with nothing in return because Jesus taught us that.  “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭45‬ NASB)

Comedian Michael Jr. said it best  – “Stop asking what I can get for myself  and start asking what I can I give from myself”. All of us are fortunate in some way and we have the gifts and resources to make a differnce in somone’s life. Imagine if we all stop and start caring for our fellow men. To bring happiness and joy to place filled with darkness. To put our passion and talents to make this a better place. Now stop imaging and start doing.

We are more then what we do for a living. That’s why I didn’t want my life to filled with a 9-5 job pushing paper. Glorified Supply Co. started because God called me to do something more with my life.

Designing and creating apparel is just the set up, giving back and inspiring others to do good is our punchline. What’s yours?
